The Position
Reporting to the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, the Manufacturing Engineer will oversee and manage the operational aspects of development programs and projects within Manufacturing and serve as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. S/he will provide technical support, review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports. The Manufacturing Engineer will assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals and objectives. The position will also be responsible for cost estimating for programs and products throughout Manufacturing.
Additional and Specific Responsibilities Include:
Directs all Manufacturing phases of development programs from inception through completion.
Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Responsible for monitoring and controlling the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
Coordinates the preparation of cost estimates for proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, and operating budgets.
Monitors adherence to master plans and schedules.
Identify program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
Directs the work of employees assigned to the program.

Position Requirements
Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering degree with a minimum of 5 years in electronic manufacturing and or design and 2 years' experience in a similar position.
Strong knowledge and experience in providing manufacturing floor support in electronic assembly.
Must be self-directed and able to professionally interface with multiple functions.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations.
The proven ability to write clearly, succinctly and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize, organize and work well under pressure
Have the desire and potential for future growth into a manager's position.
Ability to obtain and maintain a government issued DoD SECRET clearance.
US Citizenship required
Desired Experience/Qualifications
Experience in Cost Estimating
Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and process controls
Experience in CAD and/or 3D modeling
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and/or Kaizen techniques
Supervisory experience
This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the successful applicant's skills, education and experience.
