Software Engineer

The Software Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and analysis of application and embedded software for real-time signals intelligence (SIGINT) systems, cognitive processing systems, software defined radios and satellite communications systems. Our work also includes antenna systems, small, lightweight, low power, man-portable and multi-platform tactical SIGINT systems, integration of sophisticated intelligence systems into mobile platforms, information processing systems and services, bandwidth-efficient satellite and line-of-sight voice, data and control modems, voice and data radios for delivery to worldwide markets, and complete terminals.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
The development of front-end graphical user interface applications for PC and mobile platforms, and back-end application software that includes sensor control / monitoring / configuration software, database systems, and signal processing algorithms.
The individual will be responsible for application and real-time embedded software design, software development, systems engineering support, design of requirements and evaluation of code and build scripts.
Additional tasks may include algorithm design and prototyping, modeling and simulation, software tool support and maintenance, software build process development and maintenance, maintenance of code coverage test tools, software baseline and release management, trouble report and change request tracking, reporting, and administration.
Required:
A qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics and at least 5 years experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
We will consider Engineers from Senior level (at least 5 years of experience) up to Senior Staff level (at least 9 years of experience).
Experience with Java and either C or C languages, software version control systems and bug tracking systems.
Experience with graphical user interface (GUI) application development.
Ability to be versatile and wear many hats to meet objectives on a small, dynamic, forward thinking team. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast paced, agile, results-oriented environment as an individual contributor and as an effective team player is required.
Must be able to mediate competing requirements and designs.
Experience Desired:
Experienced in Object Oriented Architecture (OOA) / Object Oriented Design (OOD).
Experience with Android development.
Experience with algorithm modeling and simulation in MATLAB.
Experience with multithreaded applications.
Experience with database systems.
Development experience with TCP or UDP networked applications.
Experience with embedded programming and real-time operating systems.
Knowledge of machine learning and cognitive systems.
Experience developing and analyzing digital signal processing algorithms.
Experience with SEI CMMI policies and procedures.
