What You'll Do:
CLHI seeks an experienced and analytical accountant to serve as our Director of Finance.
You'll be hands-on in the areas of financial management, budgeting, and basic to advanced accounting work including audit activities.
You'll also provide oversight for CLHI's part-time Accounting Clerk.
Extensive knowledge of non-profit accounting is essential to being successful in this role.
We are seeking a candidate with experience working for a small-to-medium-sized nonprofit organization or company, where he/she/they were responsible for high-level financial analysis and daily accounting work.
As Director of Finance, you'll oversee the finances for our non-profit, CLHI, as well as our affiliated companies, Cooper Waterfront Homes LP and Cooper Riverview Homes LP.
Our non-profit and its affiliates are small in size, with annual operating budgets of approximately $1 million each.
You must be able to work part-time with a competitive hourly rate and flexible work schedule of 10-15 hours of work per week.
This is a tremendous opportunity for a finance leader to maximize and strengthen the internal capacity of a well-respected, high-impact organization and its affiliates.
Responsibilities Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
Clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements.
Lead the annual budgeting process with the Executive Director; administer and review all financial plans/budgets; monitor progress and changes.
Regularly communicate with the Executive Director about the financial status of the organization and affiliates.
Effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to the Executive Director and, upon request, the Board of Trustees.
Manage cash flow and forecasting; ensure that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements.
Perform and review bookkeeping in QuickBooks.
? Coordinate and lead the annual audit process; serve as a liaison between external auditors and the Executive Director; assess any necessary changes.
Track and organize the organization's cost-reimbursable grants and pass-through funds.
Manage duties of the Accounting Clerk (accounts receivable/payable, basic bookkeeping as directed).
Assist in all phases of development projects including tax lien acquisitions and related funding.
Commit to applying principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion to engagement with colleagues and community members.
Any other work assigned by the Executive Director.
Your Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting.
CPA license preferred.

years of finance/accounting experience working for a small-to-medium sized company or non-profit.
Extensive knowledge of non-profit accounting is required.
Technology savvy with extensive experience with QuickBooks and Excel.
Familiarity with financial reporting and audit coordination.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
Ability to collaborate with and translate complex information to colleagues who do not have finance backgrounds.
Skilled multi-tasker who can prioritize and thoroughly complete tasks with efficiency and initiative.

Compensation This is a part-time hourly position with flexible work hours.
Pay is competitive at an hourly rate commensurate with experience.
