Director of Research

The Senator Walter Rand Institute for Public Affairs ( WRI ) at Rutgers-Camden has been a long-standing and trusted regional community partner for over 20 years.
WRI honors former Senator Rand's dedication to Southern New Jersey and exists to produce and highlight community-focused research and evaluation leading to sound public policy and practice in the region.
With that as a foundation, WRI convenes and engages stakeholders in making the connections across research, policy, and practice in support of Camden City and Southern New Jersey residents.
Using social science research methods, WRI specializes in transforming data into actionable information across a variety of areas, including workforce development, education, transportation, and public/population health.
WRI reinforces and amplifies Rutgers' research, teaching, and service goals by connecting the multidisciplinary expertise of faculty to regional problems, developing research and professional skills in students, and linking the resources of higher education to communities in Southern New Jersey.
The Senior Project Administrator will be a central contributor and manager of the evaluation of the Clayton Model Pilot Program, which is an agile, trauma-informed social-emotional learning model for at least nine elementary schools across Gloucester County, New Jersey in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Education.
The Senior Project Administrator will make significant methodological and content knowledge contributions to the evaluation of The Clayton Model's impact on students, schools, and families as well as the assessment of the fidelity of training in and implementation of the Clayton Model.
This position requires experience developing and leading a research team, preparing and submitting human subjects research compliance documents, facilitating and monitoring data collection activities, writing and disseminating findings for a variety of audiences and supporting the management of the project budget.
In this role, the Senior Project Administrator will make significant independent contributions to mixed-methods research design, implementation, and reporting.
Ideally, the candidate would have knowledge in areas that include education, social-emotional learning, and/or evaluation.
This position requires advanced leadership and coordination skills and the ability to apply those skills to coordinate content, expertise, and experience of the research team to ensure all deliverables are achieved.
This position would also support other WRI projects across other content areas (e.
g.
, social services, housing, transportation, opioids, etc.
) if and when needed at the direction of the Director and/or Associate Director of Research.
Staff in this position will engage in external networking and development with relevant stakeholders and will lead and support the quantitative analysis and dissemination of appropriate materials for The Clayton Model such as but not limited to research briefs and white papers.
The Senior Research Project Administrator will interact regularly with WRI research team members (e.
g.
, full-time staff and student assistants) to ensure that The Clayton Model evaluation is completed on time and professionally and that expenditures are on target and within the bounds of the project budget.
Furthermore, the Senior Research Project Administrator will engage and interact with external partners across the State and Southern New Jersey (e.
g.
, community-based agencies, state agencies, local agencies, etc.
) to complete research and share research findings.
The Senior Research Project Administrator will also work with individuals and units across the Rutgers University system such as but not limited to:
faculty members, financial units such as DGCA , RFS , budget and finance, and other appropriate units such as ORSP , IRB.

This position is fully funded for year 3 of the Clayton Model project until September 31, 2024.
After that time, this temporary position is contingent on receiving funds from the State of New Jersey for each of the subsequent years of funding for year 4 and year 5.
If the Clayton Model project is not funded for year 4, this position will not be funded.
Minimum Education and Experience Requires a bachelor's degree in a related social or behavioral science discipline, e.
g.
Public Affairs, Social Work, Public Health, with a preference for degree in Education, Educational Psychology, Child Welfare or relevant education-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant research experience and knowledge of general principles within a discipline and the ability to use that knowledge for practical application.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities A minimum of five years of relevant professional research experience is required, along with advanced quantitative and qualitative expertise.
Advanced knowledge of social-emotional learning within educational contexts and the ability to design and organize and implement a comprehensive educational evaluation is critical for this position.
Reliable transportation is required as evaluative measures are administered in the field.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
