COMMUNITY ASSISTANT II

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Community Assistant II for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences.
Reporting to the Program Associate I of the Camden County EFNEP project, the Community Assistant (CA) teaches research-based, behaviorally focused nutrition classes to both adult and youth limited-resource participants in Camden County.
The goal of the education provided is to help program participants improve their food security, dietary quality, physical activity, and food safety behaviors.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Supports volunteers and program staff who assist in the delivery of educational outreach.
The successful candidate must maintain a professional demeanor and confidentiality at all times.
Minimum Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated ability to read and write in English.
Willingness to work nights and weekends.
Self-starter.
Excellent time management skills.
Strong organizational skills.
A team player with a demonstrated ability to respectfully interact with colleagues and supervisors from diverse and varied backgrounds.

Overview The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, located on the George H.
Cook Campus, is one of the largest schools of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
We pursue excellence in research, teaching, and outreach in areas of study that address the biological spectrum from molecules to ecosystems.
Our emphasis is on both the fundamental sciences and the social and human dimensions.
We offer 21 undergraduate majors, including plant and animal sciences, microbiology, biotechnology, agriculture and food systems, landscape architecture, food and nutritional sciences, ecology and evolution, marine science and oceanography, environmental sciences and meteorology, human ecology, entomology, and environmental economics.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
