Summary:
Provides legal review, advice and support under the direction of an attorney on a board range of matters, effectively manages litigation and claims, identifies potential liability, assesses and provides recommendations for reducing risk, develops and manages defense strategy, while minimizing costs. Assist on the development of in-house training, supervises and manages the development of support staff and the performance of both support staff and outside counsel. Primary
Responsibilities:
Marketing:
Reviews and advises on sweepstakes, contests, sales, and promotional materials and selected Owner's Manuals, regional advertising and first point of contact for national advertising and social media. Litigation:
Assists attorneys and outside counsel, as needed; manages the collection and analysis of documents and conduct factual investigation of information; handles compliance with electronic discovery rules, manages and directs third party e-discovery vendor including litigation hold process; attends depositions and trials, as needed; drafts reviews, delegates and manages discovery responses, as needed. Intellectual Property:
Directs and manages outside Intellectual property counsel on name searches, registrations, periodic filings, and legal opinions and trademark infringement. Governance:
Manages the processes for governance documents, including drafting corporate resolutions, consents, bylaws, incorporation and dissolution, and other corporate documents; maintains minute books, stocks books and other corporate records; Legal Department representative at Board meetings for Delaware subsidiaries. Research:
Conducts legal and general research, as needed. Training:
Provides training on assorted legal topics, as needed. Administrative:
Supervises and effectively manages intern. Other:
Serves as back up to other positions and practice areas as needed. Required Skills and Abilities:
Paralegal Certification. In-house experience is preferred. Extensive knowledge in the substantive areas for which the incumbent is responsible. Excellent verbal and written communication, problem solving, analytical, organizational and negotiating skills with demonstrated ability to achieve results. Excellent business judgment, agility, and ability to employ strategic thinking. Team-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills, collaborative approach, and ability to provide cross-functional integration. Manages projects independently and handle complex issues. Manages and balances multiple priorities and work under short time constraints. Delegates and effectively directs subordinates. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Microsoft 365 E-discovery tool is a plus. Educational Requirements 4 year College Degree Experience Requirements 8-10 years
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Legal & RegulatoryEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
